Welcome to Halmstad Elementary, home of the Hawks!
Halmstad Elementary School is a public K-5 school located at 565 E. South Avenue in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, operating under the Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District. It serves students from Chippewa Falls and Lake Hallie, and features core elementary education alongside specialized programs like art, music, physical education, and district ELL services.
Halmstad Elementary was built in 1971 and named after Robert Halmstad, a local resident and landowner from the Lake Wissota area. It has undergone renovations over the years to keep up the building structure and accommodate community growth and enrollment numbers.
Most recently, Halmstad was recognized as a School of Progress, one of only 15 schools to be recognized in the state. The school also earned a National Blue Ribbon Award in 2016 and a Title School of Recognition in 2014.
Halmstad’s mission statement is that with the collaboration and support of families, students, and the community, the school will challenge and empower all students to reach their maximum potential while achieving academic and life skills in a safe respectful environment.
